Founding Savannah's Hope

The Bagby's are a beautiful family of four living in the Des Moines, IA area. They will never forget Savannah Bagby and will continue to serve other families through Savannah's Hope, the organization they founded in her remembrance.

Savannah Bagby was a fun, enthusiastic teenager who brightened the lives of everyone she knew. Savannah had a very normal childhood and was a very active teenager enjoying life. Signs of her rare disease came suddenly, as she woke up one day and started having unstoppable seizures. The Bagbys allowed the doctors to put Savannah in a medically-induced coma hoping to save her brain from a great deal of damage, but due to the mystery of her condition at the time, she was given the wrong medications, which caused liver toxicity and liver failure. Savannah’s life was all about having fun and serving others. She leaves behind a legacy of hope. Hope is the reason our organization exists and it’s the driving force behind everything we do.Savannah’s Hope helps bring awareness and education. We’re here to support the families in our community.

Feel free to add here if you knew Savannah. Send us your poem or story at [email protected]

A Letter From the Bagby's

We are the first to admit that this is the hardest thing we have ever had to go through. Losing our daughter has left a huge hole in our hearts that will be there for the rest of our time here on earth. Since losing Savannah we have met some families who don't have a faith in God. They have no hope of ever seeing their child again. We met a man that said, '"There is no God, there is no Heaven, and I will never see my daughter again." I felt so sad for him, he had no hope. But Rolland and I have hope, we believe we will see Savannah again. The Bible says  in Revelation that he is coming again for us. Myself, Rolland, and our children have all asked Christ into our lives and we believe he is coming again,  just as the book of Revelation tells. We believe the Bible is God's word and that Christ will return for us someday.  If he doesn't come soon, Rolland and I have said, "Whoever gets to Heaven first will smother Savannah in hugs and kisses and 'I love yous' from the rest of us. We know Savannah is safe in God's arms. We just miss her so much!
